1940s Wolverine, Delft 12-pc Child’s Tin Tea Set   (Z0321)

Wolverine Supply & Mfg. Company of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania was established in 1903 by Benjamin F. Bain as tool and die operation. Wolverine agreed to tool a sand toy for a company that failed and Wolverine was left with tooling for sand toys. The company then developed an impressive line of Sandy Andy toys and a large line of housekeeping toys such as stoves, sinks, refrigerators, washing machines, cleaning sets, tea sets, salad sets and more.

This is a highly desirable  12-pc children’s Tea Set made of tin, by Wolverine. Delft Tea Set were popularly made during the 1940s. It is beautifully lithographed with a windmill and a Dutch couple. Dimensions of these pieces are summarized as follows:

1 Teapot                  2in H, 4in W and 3in in diameter
1 sugar                    1.25in x 3.5in W
1 creamer                1.25in x 3in W
2 Cups                     1.25in H, 2.75in W and 2.25in in diameter

Most pieces are in good condition but a few have the usual age wear such as surface rust, scratches, dents, paint loss, etc. as shown in photos.
