Description

Genuine United States Mint: 1945-1964 BU Silver Roosevelt Dime  (C0522)

Though the Roosevelt design has continued in production, this Silver type is rarely found in circulation. Its Silver content is worth more than the coin’s face value.TheDIme was redesigned in 1946 to honor the late President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, who was admired for leading the country through years of turmoil. A polio victim himself, he was closely associated with the March of dimes, a fundraising campaign for polio  victims. For the reverse, designer John R. Sinnok used a torch as the symbol of liberty and enlightenment. The modern design and smbolism reflect America’s sentiments at the close of World War II.
