Rare 1948 Child’s Wolverine Delft 4-pc Canister Set   (L0521)

Wolverine Supply & Mfg. Company of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania was established in 1903 by Benjamin F. Bain as tool and die operation. Wolverine agreed to tool a sand toy for a company that failed and Wolverine was left with tooling for sand toys. The company then developed an impressive line of Sandy Andy toys and a large line of housekeeping toys such as stoves, sinks, refrigerators, washing machines, cleaning sets, tea sets, salad sets and more.

This is a rare set of Wolverine Delft Canister Set, consisting as follows:

    2-pc Flour Canister with lid         2.75in H, 3in in diameter
    1-pc Coffee Canister                  2.25in H, 2in in diameter
    1-pc Tea Canister                      2in H,  1.5in in diameter

It has one lid, the other 2 canister does not have lids as shown in photos. It has normal wear or in played with condition with surface rust, discoloration, soiling, etc.  It is marked: Wolverine, Made in USA. This set if complete with the missing sugar canister and bread box is worth $200-275.00. (1870-1970 Housekeeping Toys page 104)
