Vintage Pair, Plymouth 1620 and 1776 T. Jefferson Plaque (sftd)
This is a wonderful pair of Historical lithographed Plaque framed in wood. It measures 13.5 inches high and 10.5 inches wide. One of the plaque reads:
Plymouth 1620, Mayflower Compact (Continued) and by virtue hereof enact constitute and frame such just and equal laws, ordinances, acts, constitutions and offices from time to time as shall be thought most meet and convenient for the general good of the colony; unto which we promise all due submission and obedience. In witness… The other plaque, signed Th. Jefferson says: The people of every country are the only guardians of their own rights and are the only instruments which can be used for their destruction. It is an axiom in my mind that our liberty can never be safe but in the hands of the people themselves that too of the people with a certain degree of instruction.
This set is in great condition with the usual age wear as shown in photos. It is marked on the left lower corner: © 1972 D.A.C. NY. This will be a great gift for historical enthusiast or as a great addition to your collection.
