1940s Wolverine, Delft 3pc Child’s Tin Dishes (J0521)
Wolverine Supply & Mfg. Company of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania was established in 1903 by Benjamin F. Bain as tool and die operation. Wolverine agreed to tool a sand toy for a company that failed and Wolverine was left with tooling for sand toys. The company then developed an impressive line of Sandy Andy toys and a large line of housekeeping toys such as stoves, sinks, refrigerators, washing machines, cleaning sets, tea sets, salad sets and more.
This is a highly desirable 3-pc children’s dishes made of tin, by Wolverine. Delft Tea Set were popularly made during the 1940s. It is beautifully lithographed with a windmill and a Dutch couple. Dimensions of these pieces are summarized as follows:
2 Saucers 3in in diameter
1 Plates 4in in diameter
It is in very good vintage condition as shown in photos. The tray shown on the last photo is not included and it is being sold separately in another listing.
