Vintage, 1940s Kramer Rhinestone Choker Necklace 13in. (Z0323)
Louis Kramer opened his firm in New York City in 1943 and made a range of variously priced costume jewelry for the following 30 years. Kramer was a believer in stone-rich designs, a look that found particular favor during the 1940-50s climate of dressed-up glamour. Kramer used a wider variety of paste-rich jewelry. Another collectable line is the series of jewels that Kramer manufactured for Christian Dior in the United States. Dior by Kramer is eagerly collected and prices continue to rise.
This is a fabulous Kramer choker necklace, prong set with high quality rhinestones and measures 13 inches long, will fit skinny ladies or teenagers. It consists of 4 strands of paste rich rhinestone with chrome backing and twisted on both side to show a scallop or bow effect. It in excellent condition and has an elegant clasp decorated with clear crystals. This Kramer necklace was probably made in during the 1940s and is marked “Kramer” and “Patent Pending” in the back of its stone studded clasp.
